My wife. Six years. One disease.
"What I learned is that dementia caregiving is not one journey. It is seven. The fear in Stage 3 is different from the fear in Stage 5. Generic advice does not meet you where you are."
Built from the inside out.
In 2021, after a six-year journey, my wife Lori passed away from dementia. I was her primary caregiver. I lived inside that disease — the slow erasure of someone you love, the loneliness of being awake while the world sleeps, the tenderness of caring for someone who no longer knows your name.
What I needed at every stage was someone who had been there one step ahead, and a moment of stillness designed for that exact part of the road. Day to Day Dementia is the resource I wish I had — and the one I am building so other families have fewer of those moments alone.
